Book Description
This book is motivated to meet the challenge of information and communication technology for higher education. It introduces the application of numerical techniques using FORTRAN ramming to perform simulation of Physics problems related to mechanics, waves, optics, electricity, magnetism, electronic circuits, quantum physics, nuclear physics and random systems. In the last five decades computational science has grown as a subject. Computational physics, which forms the foundation of computational science, deals with solving and stimulating physics problems on computer using numerical techniques and ramming language and can be easily applied for related science and engineering problems. This subject can bring real life component in the teaching of physics in contrast to the present state which limits to simple and ideal situations handled through analytic tools, or slightly going beyond them through approximation methods. The book will be very useful for computational physics courses. Problems at the end of each chapter have been given for further practice of computer simulation on a PC. A CD containing rams of the problems, which are written in FORTRAN 77, followed by the graphics rams will further enhance the utility of this book for interactive learning physics. Students are not expected to have any knowledge of computer ramming.
