Associate professor Aoki has written this book to explore how nonlinear dynamics can be used to explain transport mechanisms in semiconductors, and to explain how chaos theory can be used to understand the semiconductor dynamics. It is a novel approach. It is of great topical interest, first in the early 1990s, and which continues as the drive to understand how quantum phenomena within semiconductor structures, and external factors such as noise, affect semiconductor behaviour and device performance.
